From May 26 – 28, 2017, Rio de Janeiro will host the Hacking Health event, a global movement which gathers health, technology, and entrepreneurship professionals in a hackathon to reflect upon the health system. Created in Canada in 2012, Hacking Health is present in 21 countries and has already generated more than 650 projects and solutions to improve health conditions in the areas it operates. In Rio de Janeiro, during three days, the event will feature experts and enthusiasts to overcome barriers in innovation in the areas of public health, health within the working environment and health in sports. During the hackaton it will be possible to construct prototypes of the ideas elaborated and present them to a committee of experts, investors, partners and supporters who will assess them as possible businesses to be developed and applied in the society. The event is free of charge and registrations can be made at the website. The number of places available is limited. The event is organized in partnership with UFRJ Science Park and the Software Engineering Laboratory (LES – Laboratório de Engenharia de Software) from CTC/PUC-Rio and has the support of dozens of development, entrepreneurship and innovation-oriented institutions.
