UFRJ Science Park welcomed two visitors on November 24: Professor Henry Etzkowitz, from the International Triple Helix Institute, and Professor Mariza Almeida, from UNIRIO. The Park’s CEO, José Carlos Pinto, met the two visitors. Professor Etzkowitz is one of the founders of the triple helix concept, which views universities, governments and businesses as innovation drivers.
Etzkowitz currently develops research projects that aim at assessing entrepreneurship-based activities at universities. During the meeting, it was defined which innovation indicators can be used in Brazil as well as other aspects of the research methodology. Due to the characteristics of Brazlian universities it was decided that technological and social entrepreneurship should be taken into account.
